🌄 Sumaq Kausay

The Resonance of the Inner World

A three-day spiritual retreat in the clarity of the heart, the senses, and awareness — in a small, intimate circle, within a genuine Andean tradition.

📅 July 24–26 · 📍 The Drăgan Valley, an hour and a half from Oradea

Sometimes you do everything right — and still feel tired

You work on yourself. You read, you pay attention, you try to be present. And still there's a quiet weight, hard to untangle: as if your body, your heart, and your mind lived in three separate rhythms, none of them with time for the others.

The curanderos of the Andes don't call this a personal failing. When the above, the now, and the within fall out of alignment, a person loses ayni — the reciprocal flow that connects you to yourself, to your relationships, and to the Earth. The ancient tradition doesn't say “fix yourself.” It says: return. To your body, to your heart, to your own silence.

That is what we invite you to, for three days.

What are these three days?

Sumaq Kausay means, in Quechua, the beautiful, whole life lived in harmony. Not a goal to be reached, but a state you can find your way back to.

This retreat is a slow, deep return home. On the path of the sacred plants — the Grandfather and the Grandmother — you step into the wider space of awareness, while your body is nourished with living vegan food and heart-made raw desserts. The gentle heart-opening of ceremonial cacao brings it all into harmony, and so your journey becomes whole.

You're not coming for a lecture, or for one more theory. You're coming for an experience that happens in your body.

The tradition that holds you

The Andean worldview thinks in three worlds. Hanampacha is the upper world, the whole seen from the height of the condor. Kaypacha is the here and now, where the puma walks with an earthbound strength. Ukupacha is the inner world, where Amarú, the serpent, guards the deep layers of transformation.

These three are not to be separated, but tuned to one another again. That is exactly what the arc of the ceremonies serves: slowly, gradually, with steady accompaniment, it leads you through your own depths, so that in the end you rise not as less, but as a whole person.

The arc of the ceremonies

Cacao ceremony (Saturday afternoon, a gift)

The retreat's opening gift. Ceremonial cacao awakens the intelligence of the heart — joy, connection, body awareness, music, and shared presence. Softness, and yet a deep opening: here the armor that ordinary days lay upon us begins to loosen.

The Grandfather's green drink

A gentle, grounding, heart-centered presence. The wisdom of a master plant who helps you open to the innocent wonders of life — in a tree, in the wind, in a touch. It doesn't shake you, it opens you; it doesn't tear down, it dismantles the walls.

The Grandmother's black depth

The deep water of the Soul. The night of remembering, of memory, and of realization. A Sacred Mirror that sets before you what is to be released, and shows you where your true strength rests. It carries you with a soft rocking through your own darkness, so that on the far shore more light awaits you.

The combined ceremony

The two sacred plants together — the synthesis of body and soul. One lifts, the other grounds. One teaches, the other comforts. In this meeting everything can become one: in peace, in clarity, in vibration.

Who and what we work with

The plants who are with us

Alongside the drink of the Grandfather and the Grandmother, we are accompanied by mapacho, the sacred Peruvian tobacco, and its Andean plant companions — palo santo, agua de florida — who cleanse and hold the space.

The sounds that carry you

The sacred songs, Jaime's own traditional songs, working precisely, from person to person. The drum, which carries you into a deeper state of body awareness, where control loosens its grip. And the chakapa, the rattle made of bound leaves, which performs a subtle energetic clearing above your body.

Food as ceremony

Throughout the retreat you are surrounded by the kitchen of vegan chef Varga István, where taste itself becomes ceremony. Living, colorful, seasonal plant-based dishes arrive — fresh, crisp, full of aroma. Handmade raw vegan desserts: cacao, vanilla, dates, and walnuts in their full depth, without sugar and without compromise.

The kitchen is an open space: you can watch the food come to life, or join in — even shaping energy balls. And so you can continue this quality at home, every participant receives a gift online vegan course, with videos and recipes.

Nourishment on every level

Your body is nourished and replenished with fresh plant-based food. Your heart opens in the cacao and in the green wisdom of the Grandfather. Your soul remembers in the deep, black mirror of the Grandmother. And your mind grows quiet, so that a new space can be born within you.

🪶 Jaime Caso Villavicencio

Jaime is an initiated curandero, tabaquero, and yachac of the Andean Quechua tradition — a keeper of the rare and deeply respected lineage of healers who work with the sacred tobacco. He was born in Huancayo, at three thousand five hundred meters, where from childhood the elders of his culture initiated him into the sacred Andean knowledge. He studied in Mexico, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Peru, for seven years at the side of his teacher and friend.

For more than twenty-five years he has led ceremonies, and since 1999 he has lived in Europe, weaving the ancient Andean worldview together with our present-day European life. Alongside his work as a curandero, he is a professional practitioner of traditional and ritual South American dances. His style is marked by deep tradition, humor, love, and an earthy lightness.

Those who accompany you

🍽️ Varga István — vegan chef, with whom the meal itself becomes ceremony. 🌸 Várdai Gabriella — SoulCoach, who accompanies you in the turn inward, and brings gift teachings and the SoulVibes game during the day.

This is for you if…

  • You long for the opening of the heart and deep self-knowledge, not a surface-level experience
  • You stand at the threshold of a life change, a loss, or a postponed decision
  • You want to nourish your body, heart, soul, and mind at once
  • You want to meet an ancient tradition authentically, accompanied by a real lineage

It's not for you if you're looking for a quick fix or “spiritual entertainment.” This is a slow, deep path that asks for real presence.

🌸 You may bring a stone, an amulet

Bring an object that matters to you: a stone you chose with your own hand, an amulet. It doesn't matter where you found it — in a forest, on a mountain, on a riverbank. During the ceremony we attune it, and afterward you can keep using it. If you like, you may also bring an instrument, a drum or a harmonica.
